Yesterday we went to a Denver Broncos game in Denver at Invesco Field. And, I have to admit… I enjoyed it. I don’t know where this strange transformation is coming from, but I really enjoyed it. It’s strange having seen a few of their other games on tv and then seeing them in ‘person’ (I put that in quotes because we were pretty far from the field). I guess it compares to a concert in my mind. It was an intense game, very close though unfortunately we did lose at the end. It’s crazy all the things that fans do in support of their team. I wonder how much of it really has an effect on the players or the game. This was my first professional sporting event. What now?

During a heated debate between Amber and me regarding the altitude of Colorado Springs, which came up during a heated debate about the alleged upcoming blizzard and statements about there being up to a foot of snow in areas above 6,000 ft., I stumbled accross the Wikipedia article on it. Turns out we are above 6,000 ft., 6,035 to be exact (score Amber 1 – Ben 0). Now, it’s no secret that Colorado Springs isn’t my city of choice, and there are a lot of lame things to point out about it. But, when I saw the flag I almost fell out of my chair. It looks like the work of a two year old. I thought maybe it wasn’t true (as we all know, Wikipedia does have some wrong information on occasion). So, I quickly did a google search for it. Not much turned up other than this. This site looks even less credible. So maybe it’s not true after all. I sure hope this isn’t the banner representing our city, though I wouln’t be all the surprised if it was. To quote the second site:

“The white field is intended to represent the cleanliness and health of the city; the blue border our blue skies; the shield carries the sun, of which we are justly proud; the mountains stand for Pikes Peak and on it are pictured the gold ingots of our mining industries; the green band about the shield represents the park system surrounding the city.”

Right…

Today we went to the doctor again and heard the baby’s heartbeat. We have heard it before but it’s awesome to be able to hear the baby’s heart beat anytime. Next appointment is ultrasound time. I’m excited to be able to finnaly see the baby. More updates soon.

From Hasbro the makers of cool toys such as Nerf comes the next Tickle-Me-Elmo sensation: Itsy Bitsy Spiderman. I hesistated linking to it because I don’t really want to raise any more awareness for this product, but seeing as I have 3 readers and I saw this in a commercial aired during Good Morning America theres not a big chance it’s going to matter. None the less this is quite depressing. Why does a sweet superhero like Spiderman have to be made a sissy childrens toy that sings kid songs and dances. I wonder who’s to blame for this sell out move. It’s just sad, that’s all.
