pdftotext – Thank You

Due to the nature of my job I spend more time than I’d like making product pages out of PDF documents. Needless to say this process is quite tedious. The simple way would be to use Preview to open the PDF and use the text-tool to copy and paste any relevant text into the aforementioned product pages and then HTML-ize it, but this only works half the time. For some reason every now and then the text just doesn’t copy well. Enter pdftotext a nifty command line tool that converts any PDF document into a text file, simplifying the copy and paste operations. After installing a simple:

/usr/local/bin/pdftotext /path/to/document.pdf

in the terminal and were all set. For the increased productivity and reduced headaches, I thank you pdftotext.
